Cragfast in Chiang Mai

In rock climbing, the term 'cragfast' is defined as 'to be stuck on a rock-face or mountain-side such that one can neither ascend nor descend without danger'.

(Often, in my case, before I've even left the ground)

Aside from the danger bit, cragfast pretty much describes our current status.

Before setting out on this trip our plan was to spend 6 weeks island hopping. Snorkelling, diving and enduring sea-sickness to varying degrees.

Sadly, the weather gods had other ideas and unleashed seemingly unending rainfall on our intended route and so we came to Chiang Mai to wait out the storms.

The thing is, we've got quite comfortable in our twin pool budget-priced hotel. And because we've been to Chiang Mai many times before, we don't feel compelled to go out sightseeing each day.

The weather is reliably hot and sunny and the beer cold and cheap. And the food is great.

Why move on?

Cragfast.
